Why St Ives?
St Ives is a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney, located 18 kilometres of the Sydney Central Business in the local government area of Ku-ring-gai Council.
History
St Ives was once known for its apple orchard but due to residential demand, there is no longer any commercial fruit growing in the area. After World War II the suburb expanded from the central area outwards to include the hilltop and valley area bordering the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and the Garigal National Park.
Transport
St Ives is serviced with public transport, with regular bus services to nearby Pymble and Gordon train stations, as well as regular express services to the CBD. St Ives close proximity to the Pacific Highway allows for easy road travel to the City.
Recreation
St Ives Shopping Village is a medium-sized shopping centre that has over 110 stores. The Village Green is a popular park in St Ives and includes sporting fields, tennis courts and a skate park. The Village Green also hosts the annual Festival on the Green.
