Marrickville is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney and is located 7 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district and is the largest suburb in the Inner West Council local government area.

History
The name Marrickville comes from the 60 acre ‘Marrick’ estate of Thomas Chalder, which was named after his native village Marrick, North Yorkshire, England. The railway line opened here in 1895 and the area grew in popularity.
